A new International Commission on Education

A new International Commission on Education

The renewal of the educational service of the Society of the Sacred Heart is part of the recommendations of the last General Chapter of the Society of the Sacred Heart. A mission has been entrusted to a new International Commission of Education.

Under the leadership of Sr. Suzanne Cooke, who has already completed the reorganization of the US-Canada Province School System, this mission is composed of 6 RSCs, different continents and types of education, and a layman training the school directors in the Province.

Three main objectives have been assigned to this new focus:

  • the updating of the philosophy of education of the Sacred Heart, as a « process of humanization » not only in the framework of formal, but also informal education
  • research and the design of training programs for all those who are or will be called upon to work in their place or with them (principals, teachers, administrative staff), as well as their trainers.
  • the definition of new criteria for belonging to the Society of the Sacred Heart, making it possible to verify the conformity of all the institutions that claim to be its charisma, and to harmonize their modes of operation and financing …
